William H. Smythe DMD has practiced from the same South End Louisville office since 1973. Three generations of the Smythe family have cared for Louisville patients here — Dr. Bill Sr. opened the practice in 1973, Dr. Bill's brother joined in 1988, and Dr. Bill Jr. joined in 1996 after graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.

Procedures that exceed CDC and ADA recommendations. We use high-velocity suction and Releaf and DryShield isolation systems to reduce aerosols in the office. We require face mask, temperature, and Covid question screening as well as a closed waiting room. We have and will always take additional steps to provide a safe environment.
Dr. Smythe's injection technique, experience, use of topical anesthesia before injection, and using smaller needles makes the procedure a more comfortable experience.
Dr. Smythe continues to provide his patients with state-of-the-art treatment, from cosmetic tooth restoration (white fillings), implant restorations, veneers, crowns, endodontics (root canal treatment) and Invisalign (orthodontics).
Dr. Bill Smythe's father, Dr. Bill Sr., began practicing dentistry on Dixie Highway in 1973. In 1988 his brother joined the practice and in 1996 Dr. Bill Jr. joined and has continued the family practice since that day.
Dr. Smythe graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1996. He joined his father and brother in providing exceptional dentistry in the South End of Louisville.
